Course Synopsis

How often are your staff called to detain a violent subject? What is the average response for police? No matter what type of defensive tactics or restraint system you teach your staff time is the enemy, Positional asphyxiation, broken bones and ligament damage are the results of prolonged use of physical restraint methods.

To safeguard your staff and the subjects they deal with the use of handcuffs is a safe and money saving method of reducing injuries. Any injury sustained by the subject being restrained will need to be justified in a court of law however minor.

Unjustified injuries cost money. The purpose of handcuff training is to reduce the risks of injury to the minimum by providing your staff with a structured accredited course which is court credible.

Course Content

The course includes:

  • Medical aspects,
  • Legislation,
  • Justification,
  • types of control required for handcuffing,
  • Handcuffing from standing and prone positions.
  • Standing handcuffed subject onto feet.
  • Release from a set of handcuffing.
  • Changing handcuffs on subjects wrists with those of other officers or police.

Course Length

One day course

Certification

Participants receive a Freeway Training Solutions Limited certificate on successful completion of the course. The course is certificated for twelve months.

Please note: We normally  carry out  training  at the clients venue then staff are still available should an emergency arise and staff are required elsewhere.
